When Converting MS Exchange Users to Notes, NLNOTES Crashes Client and Creates RIP File

Technote Number: 1100575

Problem:
This issue was reported to Lotus Quality Engineering and has been addressed in
Domino 5.0.7.

Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Lotus Domino Release 5.0.7 QMR Fix List
(available at http://www.notes.net):

Migration - Exchange
SPR# JPUT4QHS7A - Instances of repeating meetings with attachments cause a
crash in the exchange migration. This fix addresses the crash and ensures that
attachments in instances of repeating meetings are migrated.

This problem was reported specific to one particular mail file and is not
indicative of all files. In this case, the problem was resolved by removing
the calendar data (copy it to a local .pst file), then running the migration
with the DUS. This will migrate all contact and mail messages over to the
user's Notes mail file. You can then use the end user tool to migrate the
calendar info from the .pst file into local archive file ("a_username.nsf").
This will also crash the client, but the calendar data is successfully
migrated. From there, you can copy and paste the info into the user's mail
file on the server.Supporting Information:

During the migration, the Exchange DUS starts with the calendar data. In this
case, since there was a problem with the calendar data, that meant that the
rest of the mail did not get migrated. By following the procedure above, we
were able to get all of the data migrated.
